Key Account Manager

This role plays a part in our organization's succession plan and therefore we seek individuals based here in Kansas City who can be on site at our manufacturing facility and HQ. Travel domestically and internationally to trade shows, customer sites, and industry conferences is required approximately 15% of the time.

The Opportunity

We seek a dedicated on-site Key Account Manager who excels at managing and growing strategic customer relationships based on trust and transparency. This position will have a strong focus on our FBO (Fixed Base Operator) customer base providing solutions and services related to ground support equipment (GSE.) We are the industry leader in serving this market.

Key Account Strategy + Growth (40%)

• Develop and execute strategic account plans focused on long-term partnership growth within assigned FBO and aviation accounts in the US and Canada.

• Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and pursue new prospects within the aviation market.

• Conduct regular business reviews with key customers to ensure alignment on equipment needs, service expectations, and future growth.

Relationship Management + Customer Experience (30%)

• Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring exceptional customer experience from initial engagement through delivery and post-sale support.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with executives, operations managers, and technical/field service teams.

• In time, lead negotiations, pricing discussions, and contract agreements to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.

• Address escalations promptly and coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely resolution.

Cross-Functional Collaboration (20%)

• Work closely with Engineering, Production/Operations, Service, and Finance teams to ensure seamless order execution and delivery.

• Provide structured customer feedback to support product innovation and continuous improvement.

• Represent the company at industry events to strengthen brand presence and develop relationships.

Reporting + Continuous Improvement (10%)

• Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and account documentation.

• Identify process improvements that enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

• Stay informed on aviation industry regulations, trends, and evolving customer needs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Proven experience in business development and strategic account management.

• Demonstrated success developing and executing strategic sales initiatives.

• Strong expertise managing relationships with executives, managers, and technical/field service teams.

• Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to maintaining high client satisfaction.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Proven ability to meet sales targets, manage competing priorities, and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within the aviation industry or heavy equipment industry.

• Familiarity with ground support equipment, FBO operations, or airport service environments.

• Experience representing an organization at trade shows and industry events.
